I’m back, not that anyone reads this anyway

Hi! I’m back from a blogging rest. Now I have 3 reviews to do (and 2 views on 2 competitions):

From 2 March 2006, every Thursday at 8.30pm on Ch U

6 finalists from Project Superstar act in this Superstar drama- Kelly, Junyang, Weilian, Sin Huey, Jason and Silver. Addtional casts are Shaun Chen, Li Wenhai, Lin Liyun and Chen Hui Hui.
The show has a good storyline and the acting from the singers are really quite good (Silver’s crying scene not included). I love the fact that they DON’T use their real names, as Shining Stars did for S’pore Idol.

Lynn (Kelly), AJ (Junyang), Steven (Jason), Charlotte (Sin Huey) and Max (Shaun) are all fashion students in the same class. Kevin (Weilian) is Steven’s friend, a busker and Charlotte’s enemy. Silver plays Jo, Lynn’s roommate and she falls for Steven later in the show.

An idol drama, I once heard on a radio programme, should have 3 main points:

1) Good looking male and female leads- AJ (Junyang) and Lynn (Kelly).
2) One lead, usually the girl will fall sick with cancer or some incureable sickness and die- Lynn (Kelly) is dignosed with leukemia and she dies.
3) I can’t remember this point but I think it is this- There is always a long lost sibling or parent, or love rivals turn out to be brothers or sisters, usually brothers- AJ (Junyang) and Steven (Jason) have the same father, they fight over Lynn (Kelly).

So this is true and true an idol drama, and a pretty good one at that. Which leaves us to think, where does ‘The Champion’ fall? Isn’t it an idol drama too?

The Shining Star 星闪闪

Newcomer Dawn Yeoh as a blind girl, Pierre Png, May Phua, Hong Huifang, Zheng Geping, Project Superstar’s Sebastian Leong, Lai Lijun, Zhuo Huiling and Leon Lim, Eelyn Kok, Huang Shinan, Constance Song, Wang Yuqing, Huang Tingyi, Ng Hui, Zzen, Andrea De Cruz, Adam Chen, Rayson Tan and Carole Lin.
Best roles: Dawn Yeoh, Hong Huifang, Zheng Geping, Sebastian Leong, Huang Shinan, Constance Song, Adam Chen
My say: I don’t really like shows that just start out of nowhere. The storyline is not bad and the casting and acting is quite good. A ‘don’t need to watch and you will still know what happens in the end.’

Star Idol Finale 明星偶像

Bryan Wong 王彦理 is the very first Star Idol! He competed against Leo Lam 林伟略 in multiple genres and was the judges’ hot favourite. I don’t like the way they ‘ended’ the interactive drama 他是谁？because it was not really concluded. Anyway, I still like Chengxi and didn’t really want Bryan or Leo to win. Haha.

Campus Superstar 校园 Superstar
Mondays at 8pm on Ch U
Finale on Sunday, 2 April at 8pm, ‘live’ on Ch U

The final 4 are:

Who will be in the finals?
My choice: Teresa and Zhiyang
My prediction: Teresa and Zhiyang
